Occupant Recognition enables you to get automatically paired to a vehicle over Bluetooth.
A one-time process per vehicle per user needs to followed for this to become automated:

Toggle the Bluetooth switch

Phone starts searching for nearby vehicles

When a vehicle is found, the pairing is initiated

Once the Bluetooth pairing is successful, the app informs the server about the association

If the Bluetooth connection breaks, you get unpaired from the vehicle and the same is immediately communicated to the server
For consecutive trips thereon, the vehicle would automatically connect to the phone in the background and inform the server about the pairing status.
