To plan routes without route optimization:


1. Navigate to Plan New Route from the navigation menu.




2. Next, select one of the preferred routing data import methods (Interactive Map Editor, Copy-and-Paste, Upload a File, Import Data).



3. After that, adjust the following route optimization settings:

  • Go to the Optimization tab;
  • Select the Disable Optimization option;
  • Choose where to end the multi-stop route after the last stop is visited and serviced:
    • End route at any address: When route optimization is disabled, the route ends at the stop that matches the last stop in the uploaded route file/spreadsheet;
    • End route at Departure address (Roundtrip): The route ends at the same stop/address where it starts;
  • End route at last address: When the optimization is disabled, the planned route ends at the stop that matches the last stop in the uploaded route file/spreadsheet.

 


4. After that, specify the rest of the route parameters to your preference and then click on the Create Route and Proceed to Add Addresses button.



5. Next, import the route addresses using one of the previously selected methods. When importing a spreadsheet with route data, for it to be successfully processed, the spreadsheet must contain a header row and data rows. The header defines the type of information you are importing, while the corresponding data rows contain the actual information/values that you import into the system. Besides the obligatory Address column, you can also include other data columns.


6. Once you uploaded the spreadsheet, Azuga Routes processes the imported data and displays it in the corresponding window. For the system to process the data automatically, select the Auto (attempt detection) option respectively. Alternatively, you can manually match column titles to the data contained in the corresponding columns. To proceed, click on the Continue to Review button.


7. In the Verify Addresses on Map window, you can view all imported and processed addresses on the map, as well as check their geocoding statuses. Green-colored dots indicate that the corresponding addresses were successfully geocoded with High Confidence. Addresses that have yellow colored dots next to them should be reviewed and fixed accordingly.




8. Once the route is planned, it is opened in the Route Editor where you can modify it, as well as added to the Routes List with all your routes. In the Route Editor, you can reorder stops on a route as you please. Routes with disabled optimization have the exact same stop sequences as in the imported route spreadsheets that were used for planning them.




If you want to optimize the route with disabled optimization, first, go to Edit in the top left corner of the screen and then select Route Settings.




In the route’s settings:


1. Go to the Optimization tab;

2. Select the Single Driver Route optimization type;

3. Choose where to end the route after the last stop is visited and serviced:

  • End route at any address: The system automatically chooses the most efficient and optimal stop for ending the route;
  • End route at Departure address (Roundtrip): The route ends at the same stop/address where it starts;
  • End route at last address: The route ends at the stop that matches the last stop in the uploaded route file/spreadsheet.

4. After that, you need to re-optimize the route to apply the changes. To do so, first, go to Route and then select Re-optimize this route from the list.




5. Once the route is optimized, the addresses from the imported route file will be placed in the most optimal and efficient sequence. After the optimization is complete, you can still reorder stops on a route.
